It's still a Power Rangers world over here and looks to be for a while more which is fine by me. These are some new poses of the main three Rangers I did which will be in a a second PR: JF storybook I'm working on right now. These sketches will be final inked and also be a part of the official PR style guide as well which is why I drew them separately and with a full body. They will be cropped in the storybook. Anyway, enjoy!
Here are three drawings of I drew of Tinkerbell, which is for a commission I'm doing for someone at the upcoming Wizard World Philly con next weekend. I worked out three sketches since this is the first time I've ever done Tink so it took me a bit to find the cutesy pose I was looking for. The first one posted here was actually the last one I drew, but it's the one I like the most. The other two are cool too but this one has more spark to it.
These are drawn on 8.5 x 11 copy paper and were the prelims for the final one which will be at 11 x 14 size I'm guessing. I draw it out on crappy paper and then blow it up and lightbox it to a new piece of art paper so that my lines are all perfect and there's no pencil residue underneath. This is how all my work is done. Unless of course it all has to be done in the computer for quality sake. Kinda like all the Handy Manny art I did. The finals must be kept super clean for a lot of jobs. Plus it makes scanning easier. I was able to get rid of most of the pencil for these with a tweak in Photoshop.
Captain Caveman was done as a warm up for the day to get the hand going since my proportions were way off today for some reason. So I'd thought I'd post this too for those who may remember the Saturday morning cartoon!
I've been at the Wizard World Philly show since it started in Philly. It's an OK comic convention, though it's dwindled the past few years in people coming to it. The best part of the show is the low expense to do it since it's in my backyard and I can drive home to the suburbs every night and not have to pay hotel bills. Every year I make up a free and cheap giveaway print that sits on my table and are free to those who stop and say "Hi." I usually make 50 and that's it. I got some breathing room today and banged it out to get it done early so that I'm not letting it go till the day before the show. Past experience usually has me getting everything ready the day of the thing, so this year I'm trying to make it easy on myself. I used the black and white art from the Scooby #133 cover I did and added the word balloons that I did on my color version that I posted a while ago. It will be 8.5" x 11" in size and make a nice coloring page for the kids as well as a free autograph take home gift. Plus it advertises this blog! BooYah!
