Scooby Artist Scott Neely Draws Shaggy!

Scooby Artist Scott Neely Draws Shaggy! (Close Up) from Scott Neely on Vimeo.

A close up head shot of Shaggy I drew in real time. It's a bit light at first since I use a 5H for initial breakdowns but it gets darker when I tighten it up.

These videos are great, Scott. Where was alll this informative stuff when I was a young, struggling cartoonist?!

Thanks, Bill. I've always liked sitting over an artist's shoulder and seeing them create something on a blank sheet of paper. I've been getting nice comments about them on my FaceBook as well. Some students have been hitting me up to do more on inking tips and design tips.

Saw you on Bill White's blog & your David-Wasting -Paper interview. Your work is amazing!! I'm a big Hanna Barbera fan and it seems like a dream job to me drawing Scooby for 10 years! Great stuff!!!

Nice! Was interesting to see the switch to the Micron pen when inking Shaggy's eyes, and also for subtle clean-ups. The line difference makes his eyes stand out more, which I wouldn't have expected. I'm gonna try that (I'm taking a cartooning class that Bill White is guest-teaching in.) Love being a fly-on-the-wall. Thanks so much!
